What is the scientific reasoning behind the splitting of the moon?

The Moon was originally a portion of the terrestrial crust and was blasted into space by an ancient impact, where it coalesced into its present form and its orbit evolved to its current form. What is the scientific reasoning behind the splitting of the moon?
Please Do Not mix Mahdi Between Science and Religion , The moon is Not splitted and if your talking about splits there is a 2 km ( 2000 meter ) line of split which hardly can be seen . you can pass it 1-2 minutes by car ! .., that happened because of some natural reason .. Earth Quake or what ever :)What is the scientific reasoning behind the splitting of the moon?
Do you mean the reference in the Q'uran?

There is no scientific reasoning behind it. It is just a story, and requires no more science than the mythical destruction of Jericho in the bible.
Please give us some explanation. The moon isn't physically split nor is anyone planing on splitting it.

If you're referring to the Lunar Phases, they where a concept handed down to us by ancient man and you'll have to talk with him to get the ';why'; of it.
Which splitting of the moon? Can you post a reference what you mean by that?

No scientist tries to split the moon so far, and I doubt they will in the future.
If you mean the appearance of the phases of the moon,

you only see the part directly lit by the sun.
it maybe impossible to split the moon. like splitting the earth.
There is no splitting of the Moon. This is an Islamic myth.
The moon isn't splitting. What are you referring to?
