Am i doing something wrong splitting the airlines?

I bought a T splitter for my 10 gallon air pump. I want to split it to give air for 2 1 gallon aquariums. Yet, when i plug it in, the T splitter...no air goes through. Nothing is blocking it. Like i would put one end of the airline with the T splitter on into a cup of water and nothing bubbles...i try the other end and nothing bubbles...but if i have them both in, only one side bubbles....Am i missing something here?Am i doing something wrong splitting the airlines?
hi.. i used to have fish pets. yup i had that problem before. there is just too much room in the tube for the air to flow thats why there is nothing coming out on the other side. You know what i did, i attached, something like a regulator valve, plastic ones, in both tubes right after the split i could balance the flow and i could also adjust the flow of air and it worked. both tubes were working perfectly. im sure u can find that in fish shopsAm i doing something wrong splitting the airlines?
Is there a little knob on it for adjusting the flow, are you sure that isn't shut.
Hmm, that's a good mystery, it's hard to answer with out actually seeing this problem in person, but maybe the pump isn't strong enough.
1. I am pretty sure that the reason why it isnt working the way you want it to is because the 10 gallon pump was only made for a 10 gallon tank (with one line).

2. They pump is probably weak so you should try a pump made for a 20-30 gallon tank if you want to do a T splitter.

If you need anything else you can email me! Good luck :]
The air coming out of the pump is going to take the path of least resistance. When you only have tubing on one side of the T the air will go out the other side because it is easier. Thats why there are no bubbles in the cup. As far as only one side working when both are hooked up. Is one length of tubings significanly longer that the other if so it could be the same problem. If not and its always the same side working double check and make sure the other side isn't blocked.
