House is splitting on one end?

I'm trying to figure out what type of repair or who would repair something like a house slipping. It seems the ground is settling lower in one part of the house than the other and the wall and the floor are coming apart, in addition to creating various cracks throughout the floors in different rooms. Is this retrofitting?House is splitting on one end?
It sounds like the foundation is uneven. You should call a house inspector, and they can help you get some people in and get it fixed. Its really spendy to fix foundation though.House is splitting on one end?

Well, if this is not a manufactured home... then you want a 'mudjack' crew (common name for what they do). These types of companies will come in and prep the foundation and/or slab for repair, and can literally pump in a cement mixture through to the underside, and raise it up to the needed level. Ive seen porches lifted back into place, foundations repaired, chimneys bought back adjacent to the home structure,... all kinds of things they can do.





If this is a manufactured home, then youve probably got part of the foundation that has settled... you can have a set up crew come in and relevel the home, without tearing out any of the existing foundation.

if iit is a slab you are best to call someone like Ramjack, If is is pier and beam you do it yourself with good heavy duty bottlejacks 6 foot levels and another person one under the house operating the jack and one inside reading the level keep some good sturdy shims nearby . Also if it is a slab you will find it handy to keep your foundation moist at all times this slows down the settling process greatly
Our house (not a mobile) was doing the same thing, cracks in the walls and ceiling and doors not fitting. Turned out we had to have a contractor come in and drill down to bedrock and anchor our foundation. It took 10 steel beams at a cost of $1,000. per beam. $l0,000.00 total. We were literally sliding down the hill. This was the cost 8 years ago. I truly hope this is not your problem, but you need to get someone out to look at it. Be sure and get more than one opinion and bid.
