Coral propogation: is it better to have identical splitting or would you say that breeding of it is better?

I have a lot of tanks and I do propagtion, however I've only been experienced in identical propogation, an exact clone of the coral itself. However, from some reading I've done it looks like better colors and even stronger species can be formed by doing normal breeding of them, if you can do the male female species of a coral. Any suggestions?Coral propogation: is it better to have identical splitting or would you say that breeding of it is better?
I think that that type of breeding would be extremely difficult. Getting them to release sperm and eggs in a tank is hard enough. Having the embryo's float around your tank while looking for an ideal place to settle and not be removed by your filter would be even harder.Coral propogation: is it better to have identical splitting or would you say that breeding of it is better?
obviously, natural reproduction is always better - the only reason breeders use cloning is because it's faster...

the problem with exact clones is that there is no genetic variation - natural reproduction strengthens the genetic makeup of corals and any other sexual living thing...this includes better coloration and a healthier organism...
