How do I prevent MS Word from automatically splitting my border when I try to indent a paragraph?

I have 3 paragraphs with ONE border and I want to keep it that way. The problem is that I want to indent the entire second paragraph but when I do, it splits my border into 3 separate borders. When MS Word creates a border, there appears a little transparent button type object. Click that. It gives options such as ';Stop automatically creating borders';. click that.
